College Essay Workshop

Capstone is offering a 3-hour, hands-on college essay workshop for high school seniors at any stage of the process. Students can bring whatever they have — brainstorming notes, ideas, a rough draft, or even just a blank page — and we'll work from there.

Why Now

Most Early Decision and Early Action deadlines fall on November 1st. This workshop is timed to give you real momentum right when you need it — enough runway to turn a strong start into a finished essay before deadlines hit, without the last-minute scramble.

Led by Jennifer Burke

Jennifer Burke brings over two decades of specialized experience guiding students through the college application process. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in English and a Master of Arts in Liberal Studies from Wesleyan University, and spent more than thirty years teaching English at both the high school and collegiate levels throughout southeastern Connecticut.

Her college counseling career began in 2002, and since then she has worked extensively in both private practice and high school counseling offices, helping hundreds of students navigate the complexities of college admissions. Jennifer also designed and teaches a specialized course that guides seniors through every stage of the application process — helping them build a college list and application strategy that reflects their own strengths, interests, and goals.
